Just make the leap

When we were kids, we just jumped.

Sometimes we made it. And we celebrated.

Sometimes we missed. And we got hurt.

But we learned and we prepared. Or tried it a different way. Eventually we made it, and we celebrated.

The older we grew, the wiser we became. We learned what we had to do to make the leap as we got bigger. And heavier. And, hopefully, stronger.

Sometimes the added weight came from more muscle (experience, family, opportunities). Sometimes from fat (fear, obligations, debt). Likely a little of both.

So we adjusted. And we jumped again. Sometimes we made it, and sometimes we missed. Sometimes we celebrated. Other times we recalculated.

Hopefully, we never retreated.

Because we’ll never stick the landing if we don’t jump.
